Basil and Millie

Meet Basil and Millie, two adorable Cavaliar King Charles Spaniels. This oil portrait was commissioned by Sarah as a Christmas gift for her mother. This was a double portrait chosen from two seperate photos (see below).

I loved doing this portrait! It has been a long time since I have done a portrait with curly fur and its so much fun to do! Curly haired portraits always look so three dimensional and this one was fabulous with its different colours and highlights. Fiona Kertesz did the best job I could have ever wished for of Basil and Millie. She has never met them but managed to capture all the details of them from a photograph and everyone that has seen the painting cannot believe how life like it is. I would definately recommend her to anyone wanting a pet portrait. Sometimes its scary as you think you may receive a portrait that doesn't look like your best friend but with Fiona i can definitely say this won't be the case. Also kept me well informed every step of the way which was a A+++++ service thanks.
